the forgetting
of your fingers
the un-learning
of your lips
our nights that
never happened
the unremembered days
just a dimming dusk
the dying dust of us
I unravel a life
and patch the holes
with the words
you did not say
yours is the name
I forget to carry
when I walk away

Really powerful — and the verb tenses bring it so into the moment for the reader. It’s immediate and visceral — thanks for creating it (so I could read it!)
