denial

when I am thus,
limbs laid out
at length
long after lights
have languished low,
the stray stayings
of you –
mere murmurs
of moments –
linger long
in evening’s teasings
of my curtains,
though they (I),
remain (not) tangled
in yearnings
of you

  1. Wow. It’s not too often that I read a poem and feel that it’s perfect, even my own (but that’s just my opinion, what do I know about other people’s poetry? Shouldn’t all poetry be perfect?), but this is a perfect poem. Love the emotion expressed, and am kind of amazed at how you’ve put some complex words so simply. Absolutely love this poem.
