It’s not unusual for us to see Anna’s hummingbirds through the winter and several neighbors keep their hummingbird feeders up for them. So while many birds are feeling the pull of migration currently, I’m blessed to live in an area where we’ll have these little scraps of winged sunshine still with us in the colder months.

Ahh I took one more feeder down yesterday to store away. Left one up with fresh sugar water for any slow pokes, but for the most part, our jeweled feathered beauties are away for their winter homes. How lucky you are to have them throughout the year. Lovely watercolor, Sarah – what a wonderful talent you have!

In winter I have to have four feeders to take care of the number of hummers around my back porch…makes for some hectic evenings. :-0

I read a piece in my paper yesterday about the disappearance of birds from our urban habitat so it is good to know that beauties such as this are still around 🙂
